Madonna with Saint Jacob and Saint Dominic

Giovanni della Robbia made this lunette to be placed above the gate of the western facade of the Dominican church. The glazed terracotta relief was transferred at the end of the 19th century to the Villa La Quiete in Florence. The plaster cast of the relief was purchased by the Museum in 1907, and in 1909 was exhibited in the Renaissance Hall. The copy has been deposited between 1982 and 2013 in the Institute for the Blind, Budapest.
