The bronze Angel by Jean Barbet (active between 1475–1514), which was once in the collection of Pierpont Morgan, is housed from 1943 in the Frick Collection, New York. The signature of the Lyon based master and the date of 1475 can be seen on the left wing of the angel. However, Barbet was probably only the master craftsman, who executed the work. The provenance of the work before the nineteenth century, and its original destination is unknown, it may have formed part of an altar or a fountain or could have been a weathervane. Commissioned by the museum in 1909, the cast was made by August Gerber in Cologne. It was exhibited in the Romanesque Hall in 1910. Probably lost during World War II, current whereabouts of the artwork are unknown.
