Statue of the Virgin and Child from the Church of St. Mary, Königsberg, Franconia (built in the fifteenth century). The copy was probably made after a statue, which is located on one of the counterforts at the choir. The cast formed part of the gift given to the museum in 1907 by Elsa Göschel from Nuremberg, who married the Hungarian Gábor Durkó and moved to Budapest. The cast was made by Elsa Göschel’s father, Johann who, a stone carver and cast maker in the German city. The copy was exhibited in the Romanesque Hall. Probably lost during World War II, the current whereabouts of the artwork are unknown.
