Statue of John the Apostle from the Calvary Group in the parish church of Aub (Bavaria), carved by Tilman Riemenschneider (ca. 1460–1531) around 1510. The cast formed part of the gift given to the museum in 1907 by Elsa Göschel from Nuremberg, who married the Hungarian Gábor Durkó and moved to Budapest. The cast was made by Elsa Göschel’s father, Johann, a stone carver and cast maker in the German city. The copy was exhibited in the Romanesque Hall. Probably lost during World War II, the current whereabouts of the artwork is unknown.
