The statue is one of the allegorical female figures standing in the northern side portal (also known as the Portal of Virtues) at the western façade of the Strasbourg Cathedral (ca. 1280). Commissioned by the museum in 1909, the cast was made in the plaster casting workshop of Kaiser-Friedrich-Museum, Berlin. It was exhibited in the Romanesque Hall in 1910. Probably lost during World War II, current whereabouts of the artwork are unknown.
